I'm really pleased that a filmed version of the stage show has been recorded and despite the issues I have with the filming it still does a great job of showing all the best bits of the musical. I found that for a lot of the show there were far too many closeups and views of the audience.
I personally do not need subtitles but when my friend wanted to turn them on she discovered there was none. For this reason I much prefer the musical as it adds to an already great film and makes it even more perfect. K.
The cast in this version of Heathers is fantastic and in my opinion one of the stronger casts the U. I don't mind seeing the audience every now and then but when it's in the middle of the scene it's a little distracting.
It would have been nice to have had lyrics to the songs or an easy way to get to the songs but this is not included in the DVD. The Heathers are brilliantly cast and some of my favourites to watch in the roles. I love the innocence that Teleri brings to Macnamara, the boldness Duke shows and the fierce but lovable character Maddi brings to Chandler and all three of them have amazing voices. In recent years Heathers has quickly become my favourite musical so I couldn't wait to get the DVD so I can continue to watch it far too many times!
