As outlined though, there was an easy and reliable workaround. Sadly many of the reviews mention the need to reset these from time to time. My numerous TP-link plugs have never needed a reset in 2 years of use.

As stated however, I feel these are NEARLY the perfect smart plug. ! A simple on/off button on top works great, with a faint green light that only comes on when the switch is on (so it's not a bright distraction in the middle of the night).

Although I’ll also likely be waiting a little while to ensure I don’t need to reset them again before I do buy more. The build quality appears good, they connect very easily to the Hue bridge, and they’ve demonstrated almost 100% reliability (see below) via zigbee. I’m sure many people will be buying these to connect to a Hue bridge, as I did, and for me these have one massive advantage over the Hue own brand of smart plugs.
