My 15 year old son wanted this to help with his glass work projects, I know there are negative reviews but I thought I'll give it a go, first use perfect cut apart from a tiny bit that was left but sanding took this away. Perfect.

Keep on with the hot and cold water evenly until it splits. As with all hobby gadgets some are for you and some aren't, my son being 15 picked the perfection of this gadget up right away so for us it's 5stars all round, this gadget can be used to help cut down recycling and he already has orders for various glasses and candle holders one happy teenager means one happy mammy . It also comes with a handy knife blade like a scalpel for cutting flat glass.

Keep score line straight and pressure even. It’s quite addictive . This is just what I needed to recycle used bottles . soo easy to use, comes with all the pieces you'll need to get going - scoring station, with adjustable/removable stabiliser with attachment for bottlenecks, instructions, rubber o-rings, bottle cleaner, gloves, sandpaper, AND even a handheld scorer!

Takes some turns getting it right. The 2020 version also includes a hard plastic plug for guiding the bottle neck and is fully adjustable so you can cut most sizes of bottles and jars.

This is well worth the outlay if anyone intends to cut a large number of bottles. So will a Dremel, which is what I'll use once I've used up the sanding papers.

Glad we bought & will use again to create other lights, candle holders & vases from a variety of bottles. Love this! Forget lighter fluid and bits of string.

The sandpaper that's supplied does smooth off the edges quickly. Instructions are clear and easy for anyone to understand .
