About this deal

There's no pretence, it's just straight up pop songs. Through these strange and uncertain times it is sometimes a little hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel but this is where The Moons have stepped in. This long player is an album full of colour and raw songwriting recorded live in the legendary Studio 2 at Abbey Road Studios. 'Most of this album had been unintentionally sat in my pocket for quite some time. 'I wanted to be true to myself with this record. So that is why I wanted the album to simply be named Pocket Melodies. Songs that I had written and forgotten about or had just lost their way and left unfinished. I have always worn my heart on my sleeve when it comes to my feelings and I think you can hear this in the lyrics this time. With cinematic string arrangements and masterclass songwriting from the pen of singer/songwriter Andy Crofts this album will be your happy escape. The album features singles Riding Man and Today which received high praise and championed on BBC London and Radio X and a collaboration with Paul Weller on the song Tunnel Of Time.

Robert Rodriguez

But of his experiences (however menial at times), his recollections are priceless - who among us wouldn't have happily traded places with him? In addition to regularly rubbing elbows with the biggest names in British rock at the time, he was their go-to aid for mundane tasks (making tea, for example); a true fly-on-the-wall during their last years at Apple. Kevin Harrington, at a young age, was drawn into The Beatles' orbit at the height of their career. Kevin provides insights into the personas and a vivid, engaging telling of those glorious times.

For an overlooked perspective from someone who was not a peer, but an employee, this book cannot be bettered. In the various lowly but much-needed roles he fulfilled for them, he became a trusted insider, gaining entry into a world that we can only imagine - this was his normal.

While the famous rooftop performance marked an amazing career highlight for most of us, to him it was another day at work (being charged with lugging all that heavy gear to the roof). This isn't a study of The Beatles per se; it's a narrative of an all-too-brief period of being in their employ; a ringside seat to history being made.
