I got this little preamp from Amazon to avoid replacing the turntable with either a cheap belt-driven turntable or an expensive direct drive turntable. I did as others had to do of making sure the ground was tight and the phono stage was on a level service.

Read some reviews and pulled the trigger a £20 fix to my problem and brought my Technics table back into the fold 10/10Make sure you ground the deck to reduce unwanted humming, after scratching my head and reading fixes online a speaker cable will work fine for the connection! This comes with the power supply. Sounds great, I'm no Audiophile but I can't fault it other than needing a power button, apparently it only consumes 1. It all sounds as good as it did in the 1980s, if not better.

NOTE: Don't forget to earth both the preamp (brass nut fitting) and the TT (if it's not earthed through the power cable like mine is not, it has a separate earth point next to the phono sockets) The two yellow/green wires are they. The media could not be loaded.

Fit and forget. Theres even an earthing point on it. Don't be afraid to try this product.

Bought this as my old amplifier with built in pre amp died, my other amp doesn't have one, works perfectly and the price is excellent, can't imagine anything else would be better, but I'm no audiophile. Just add a couple of RCA/Phono leads and you can use an old record player on an amplifier that does not have a Phono mode. It does for the purpose of amplifying the sound from my turntable. Recently moved and now have room to get all the vinyl out again, Yamaha amp only had an Aux input and the Citronics turntable only had phono output so ordered this little box of tricks to boost the level from the turntable.
