Andre Rosa
Coupled with Fidelio 2XHR/00 and I must say that it is another world (too bad for the slightly uncomfortable headphones). So far so great using the EX5 with the Apogee Acoustics Stages. I felt a slightly smaller scale sound compared to the upper model, but I was satisfied enough from price and function.

Using a Hifiman Sundara phones with New Fantasia balanced cables. PS: Someone from Japan passed on some misinformation about the EX5's balanced IO (XLR) not really being balanced.

Unless you can afford anything you want. I state that I am not an audiophile, analytical, technical, sound engineer 🧐 so I will not describe the product in “expert mode on”, I will just tell you that if you are looking for that extra something that goes beyond the classic Fiio K3 style dac/amp combo or similar, this is the one for you. Living the good life for sure! If there's an electrical engineer with schematics that is willing to discuss the matter, please alert me.
I listen to Tidal and I think it's a must to do it with this EX5. However I am somewhat of a jazz musician and my ears have miraculously survived somehow. Since it gets warm in its own way during operation, I installed it on top of the DA-8S that does not heat up much this time. I'm almost satisfied, but the various settings are difficult to understand without manual.
I'm not tired of listening, but the sound is not too curled and the fine sound is picking up enough. For now, I'll go with the empirical results in my living room. Great DAC. If you bring it to 115V in the transformer, it adds a low-frequency power to it, which increases clarity.
A bargain even if you aren't using it to power headphones. [Original Review with Silver EX5]I listened to several songs encoded at 192khz@24bit. I don't have an FFT analyzer or even an oscillioscope at this point in my life.
