About this deal

Our Notes

Blessed by the Japanese four seasons - Roku is the first gin to be produced for the Legendary Japanese Distillery; Suntory. This foundation is further enhanced with eight traditional botanical additions, resulting in a smooth, rich, and oily character that coats the palate. Nose: Cherry blossom and green tea provide a floral and sweet aroma. The six natural Japanese botanicals are embossed on the hexagonal bottle that symbolises ROKU (which means 'six' in Japanese). One of the best gins to come out of Japan. Smooth and silky texture with a little spiciness to the finish provided by the crisp Japanese sansho pepper. The harvest of the four seasons has been blended to create ROKU’s balanced flavour. The six natural Japanese botanicals are embossed on the hexagonal bottle that symbolises ROKU (which means ‘six’ in Japanese).

According to a family member who claims to be a gin expert this is a stunningly good gin, I’m no expert but have to say it does taste good, not overpowering with a hint of spice and floral notes. Cons ❌200ml at the price of a bottle of regular gins. This is nicely packaged if you were to gift it, but, and it’s a big but this is only 200ml, so 500ml less than a normal sized bottle. If you're looking at this as a purchase for yourself, then I'd suggest looking at the larger sized bottle.

As you can see, it's a good deal bigger than the miniatures you get in mini bars and a lot smaller than a standard bottle of gin but it's way, way prettier and more perfect as a gift for a friend. Made by suntory, this is a great addition to the suntory family. Unique flavour - I served 1 part gin and 3 parts quality tonic. It recommends over ice with ginger which does sound nice but I forgot to buy the ginger when I remembered the tonic, so I haven't tried that.

A very nice distinctive taste, on the rocks or with a mixer it is a lovely drink, its a good strength at 43%, I was also impressed with the packaging it complements the bottle shape perfectly it makes it a perfect gift item, it is only a small bottle but I think it’s worth the price, I love the whole thing. The quality and presentation would be 5 stars but the price brings it down to 4! I agree that tonic kills the taste, but on it's own or with ginger ale you're in for a treat. If you were going to give gin as a gift then an full size bottle would be much more appreciated.
