To be fair, I have to mention one potential problem with the actual USB connector of this cable. NOTE - I got the version of the cable that works with both 2.

It is an old WD Caviar 32100 - 2111. I’ve had these drives hoarded for a long time and they just kept moving with me. I connected all the necessary cables/connectors between my drives and my computer, the red and green LEDs lit up, to indicate working connections, and my computer instantly recognized the drives . Before plugging anything in and messing around.

Note that this depends on the fit of the cable with the port that you plug it into, so it may not be a problem for others, but it is a potential problem for me, something I have to be careful about . I didn’t even have to use the driver installation disk it came with.

I grabbed this IDE to USB adapter and plugged in the drive. (I have also attached a picture demonstrating the potential problem)The problem: The USB connector, even while it is fully connected and transferring data, does not fit snugly into the USB port on my mid 2009 Macbook Pro.

You will regret buying something cheap that doesn’t work then having to come back to buy this one. Even when plugged in all the way, the cable is loose, and can be easily shaken around.

Attempt to access the drive. For power: SataHD > Sata power cable > 12v wall adapter. 5) CD6) Instructions for use. I haven't tried any harddrive recovery software so idk if any of the data is recoverable on the 2 dead drives.
